Challenging the narrative. Reclaiming the crown.
Crowned: A Black Renaissance explores the power of reclaiming identity, challenging inherited narratives, and honoring the royalty that has always existed within Black culture, creativity, and community. Through contemporary works that reimagine power, spirituality, resilience, and everyday life, the exhibition invites us to reconsider who is centered, who is celebrated, and who gets to wear the crown.
From portraits of dignity and self-definition to bold visual narratives that blur the line between the sacred and the ordinary, Crowned celebrates the beauty, complexity, and imagination of Black life. Together, these works create a living portrait of a cultural renaissance.
Join us for an evening of art, music, conversation, and connection as we gather to celebrate the stories, voices, and visions that continue to redefine what it means to be crowned.
